Mahmud Ali Al Banna - محمود علي البنا

The Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna is a famous reciter and Moqrie of the Holy Quran, known on an international scale. He is also a famous religious man, and endowed with a magnificence voice. Mahmud Ali AlBanna was born 17 of December in 1926 in the village nicknamed the village Choubrabas. This last one is located in the center of Shebin Al Koum, which represents a small prefecture of Munufiya in the North of Egypt, his native country.

Hence, he learned the manners of the Koranic reading, under the supervision of Imam Ibrahim bin Salam AL Maliki, who is also a very great Sheikh and excellent teacher of the Islamic sciences.

In 1945, The great Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna leaves the city of Tanta, where he received his first studies, to join the capital Cairo. He studied Maqams and music according to the rules of the Sheikh Darwish Al-Hariri, who is also a reference in this domain.

Two years later, the great Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna became finally a reciter of the association of the young Muslims. He had the honor to make the inauguration of all the festivities and the celebrations of this Islamic association.

The great Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna won the prestige in his country Egypthe and in the whole world. In 1948, they asked him and invited him to join the Egyptian radio stations, with the Islamic celebrities of associations. We can quote among them; Maher Pacha, Prince Abdelkrim EL Khatabi … And of others.

Hence, the Egyptian radio stations was moved by the personality of the Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna, so he gave his first Koranic live recitation, and, followed by hundreds of Moslem listeners. It was in December.

Then, towards the end of the forties, the Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna lives his dream, and that was to became a reciter and clergyman of the big mosque Ain El Hayat, then the mosque Al Imam Rafi' i, during the end of the fifties. Then, the Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna joined the mosque Al Ahmadi inTanta, where he was considered as very great imam and famous religious man. He stayed there until the year 1980. Further to this route, the Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna decidegd to begin the recitation of the Holy Quran in the famous mosque Al Imam Al Hussein. He died there even before having the opportunity to show his ability in others mosques in others regions.

The famous Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna presented us by leaving behind him several radio recordings with the Egyptian radio station, which was the first stage of his long career. We can quote among his recordings, the holy Quran ( Mouratal) registered in 1967, then the Holy QuranSaint moujawad, as well as several small recitations of verses of God's book (Muratal), registered in the radios stations of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

During his long life, The Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna had the opportunity to visit many Arab countries in the world and present his productions and show his talents in front of big celebrities (Princes, kings). The famous Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna read the Holy Quran in several famous mosques like Al Haram Al Qudsi, mosque of Omeyyades, the mosque from Berlin to Germany ( 1978 ) and the mosque of the holy city Mecca "El Mouharama".

In 1990, the Egyptian president named the price of the arts and the sciences under his name "Mahmud Ali Al Banna", five year after his death.

Besides, Mahmud Ali Al Banna was with the activists and the defendants for the creation of a labor union of the readers of the Holy Quran, and, he was chosen as labor union in 1984.

Sheikh Mahmud Ali Al Banna died on July 20th of year 1985 corresponding in 3 Zu Al Qi3da of the year 1405 Al Hegira. He was interred, according to his wish in his home town, where he lived all his childhood and spent the best moments of his life .
